As artist Rachel Maniatis added a standalone studio on the property of her weekend home, she carefully considered every inch for the tools of the trade. The desktop sits at just the right height for sketching and painting, with enough depth for Maniatis to spread out her drawing board and palettes. Every paint tube, brush, pencil, and sheet of paper has a dedicated slot. The combination of white and natural finishes has a calming effect, while two pops of color—a fiery orange-red door and stool—add dimension to the space without overwhelming it.
