Moroccan design is all about depth in texture and color, and fluid lines that carry the eye. Influenced by Moorish roots, European architecture, and even the desert’s rolling sands, the aesthetic provides an eclectic aura that evokes warmth and energy through spirited culture.
THE DESIGN CHALLENGE: After the birth of her second child, Morin needed extra space—and her dark, cramped workout room wasn’t cutting it.
THE MUST-HAVE: A split-personality room that works hard by day and plays host at night.
THE RESULT: A modern mash-up of bright white cabinetry offset by rich walnut panels, bold-colored drawers, and a glass backdrop—all drawn from the color and texture of the room’s focal point: the vibrant Moroccan rug. Custom holders and hooks stash craft tools, while a double-size, side-tilt Murphy bed tucks away when not in use.
